The program takes place on the island of Roatan.

The dolphin facility is called The Roatan Institute for Marine Sciences.

The accommodations for participants is provided at Anthony's Key resort (AKR). The website for the

The price for the program is $400.00 US and can be paid to me directly once you arrive on the island.

The price for the rooms is up to you depending on the type of accommodations you choose. AKR
has very simple to very luxurious accommodations. The package includes 3
meals a day, airport transfer plus several other niceties.
Airfare however is not included.
Roatan can be reached directly from Miami, Houston and Atlanta. It usually takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes.

I designed the program for people who would like a career in marine mammal
care. When I was looking to get into the field there was very little
information and not too many people to ask about it. I started as an intern
in the Baltimore Aquarium. There are few intern and volunteer positions
available in the US. I thought I could help by offering a 5 day program for
people to get some hands on experience. I started my career in 1985 and
people continue to ask how I got started.

The program is a mix of classroom lectures, food preparation, feeding,
playing and training the dolphins. This is just what a trainer would do on a
daily basis.

The program is not affiliated with any University and I cannot
guarantee a position in the field upon completion. I can say that you will
learn a great deal abut the dolphins and what it takes to care for them. If
you choose to pursue a career with dolphins your participation in my program
