Teri
Turner Bolton - BS Biology 1986 , Mt. St. Mary's College Emmitsburg MD.While pursuing my degree in Biology I had the good fortune to work at the Baltimore Aquarium as an intern. At the time the aquarium had 2 sea lions, 2 elephant seals and few harbor seals. I worked with their trainers a little but they introduced me to Marine Animal productions, MAP, a company based in Mississippi that provided theme parks with their dolphin and sea lion shows. I went to work for MAP in the summer of 1985 as an assistant dolphin trainer at King's Dominion in Richmond VA. I finished my degree in 1986 and continued to work for MAP from that moment until 1989. I took animals to Richmond VA, Hershey PA, Toronto, Demoines and I even transported some to Belgium in 1988. I went from assistant trainer to senior trainer and in 1989 I left MAP to work in a Research Laboratory in Ocean Springs MS. After working there for 2 years the opportunity to move to Roatan, Honduras to work with dolphins came up and I jumped right in. My husband was offered the Director position and I was offered a trainer position. We moved to Roatan in 1991. We bought property here, built our home here and we are raising 3 children. I have been very lucky in the pursuit of my career thanks to helpful people and persistence. I have had a very full life so far and I am looking forward to the rest of my experiences. Teri |
